Continuing Education

The Continuing Education Plan provides resources for continuing education of the clergy and lay persons who are employed by dioceses and other employers who are affiliated with the Anglican Church of Canada. The sole purpose of the Plan is to provide education or training for such clergy or lay persons in order to improve their work or work-related skills and abilities.

Forms

Enrollment/Re-enrollment Form
This form is to be completed upon joining the Plan.

Retirement and Termination form
This form is to be completed and returned to the diocese/employer before the date of retirement/termination.

Application for Reimbursement Active employees
This form is for account holders for whom contributions are being made.

Application for Reimbursement Non-active employees
This form is for those retirees who continue to do some work for a participating employer or account holders who are in receipt of a benefit from the Long Term Disability Plan.

Application for Sabbatical Grant
A grant of up to $3,000.00 may be provided to an employee for 8 weeks of continuous leave for study purposes after 5 years of employment. (For a D. Min. Program, the 8 weeks need not be consecutive). Before such a grant is awarded, you must use all of your accumulation in the Continuing Education Plan up to the date of your proposed sabbatical. Please complete this form together with the attached application for your accumulation.

Application for Salary Source Grant
The Continuing Education Plan provides funding to the participating employers to enable them to hold education events for their employees (staff development days, clergy seminars, etc.). The amount of the grant is based on the number of actively participating employees in the diocese/organization (information is available from the Pension Office). Please complete this form.

Application for Retraining Grant
The Continuing Education Plan provides a grant to account holders of CEP who are experiencing career crisis and who require retraining. Before such a grant is awarded, the account holder must use all accumulation in his/her account in the Continuing Education Plan up to the date of the proposed program.

Diocese Employer Approval Form
Under the terms of the Continuing Education Plan, when an employee ceases employment, he/she is no longer eligible to make claims under the Plan, unless continuing to work in some capacity for a participating diocese/employer.
